Ambitious and passionate Undergraduate Journalism/Media student with extensive skills in Media and Music Production, as well as a good understanding of key theories in and around written English. I have proven customer and people skills alongside a good working attitude both on my own and in a team. I’m passionate about everything I do, Music and Writing being my main aspirations as well as travelling and meeting new people and cultures. I am able to work well to deadlines and create well researched and quoted copy.

Personal Statement

I am currently in my third year of studying for a BA Honours Journalism and Media Studies degree at the University of Winchester. Through my degree I have learnt technical skills in producing for radio and feel confident using equipment relevant to my course. I am experienced in researching relevant news stories, court reporting and feature pieces. I feel my ability to work under pressure has improved, and I can work well both in a team and independently. I consider myself to be versatile, organised, and conscientious which is shown through balancing part time jobs whilst being in full time study at University. I have excellent time management and am always enthusiastic and willing to learn.

I spent 5 days as a group leader on UK's leading provider of school trips and educational tours. I was in charge of a group of 15 Year 7 students who attended my Secondary School, St Joan of Arc. I gave them encouragement during their activities, and held responsibility for them during those 5 days.
Skills developed: Leadership, networking and people skills. It enabled me to develop general skills such as commitment and problem solving.

2005: Sixty Six Bakery, (Ruislip Manor)(Jan – Aug)Hours: 7am-2pm every Saturday.
Skills developed: Using my initiative, reliability, communication, practical knowledge on working with food, till experience, time keeping, customer service, coping with more than one task at a given time.

* Driver’s licence with no endorsements held since January 2007.

Hobbies and Interests

* Four years running I have completed a “Sponsored 8 Mile Walk” for a children’s charity called “Rays of Sunshine.” Money raised was up to £500 each year.
* Enjoy swimming, socialising, shopping, reading, and travelling.
* I hope to take part in Camp America over the summer of 2010.
